A total of 190,812 passengers crossed Bratislava Airport in the 9th month on arrival and departure, which is the best September result since 2008. At the same time it represents an increase of 9% compared to last September.

From the beginning of January until the end of September 2016, M.R. Štefánik Airport recorded an increase in the number of passengers with 13%, despite the unfavorable charter season. During the quarter, the airport crossed the airport in Bratislava for the arrival and departure of 1,420,918 passengers, 13% more than during the 9 months of 2015 when 1,262 million people were equipped.

A total of 20,346 departures and arrivals took place in the same period, the number of aircraft movements increased by 4% compared to last week.

Favorable operating results and an increase in the number of passengers equipped is achieved by the Bratislava Airport due to the significant increase in the number of regular passengers. Thanks to new air connections to Moscow, Berlin, Skopje, Manchester, Corfu and the increase in frequencies of existing connections, the regular traffic grew by 30% compared to 2015 during the quarter of the year, “explains General Manager and Chairman of Letisko M.R. Štefánik in Bratislava Ivan Trhlík. “On the contrary, due to the geopolitical situation in the world, we have seen a decline in irregular holiday charter flights, where the number of equipped passengers has decreased by 16% since the beginning of the year,” added Trhlík.

At the same time, the airport provided 2,723 flights, departures and arrivals in September, 1% more than in September 2015, and provided 1 770 tonnes of air cargo, 5% less than last September.
