On August 11, 2016, the first event of its kind took place at Bratislava Airport. Airplane fans and photographers had the opportunity to get to the airport area and enjoy the airplane photos completely.
The event was organized by SlovakAviation in cooperation with BTS airport management. We very much appreciate the invitation from SlovakAviation for our members of Airliners.sk, thanks to which we could also participate. The opportunity to get to the area was also spotters from across the border – the members of the Flughafenfreunde Wien were also present. Overall, we were over 30, including some media representatives.
The airport has allocated one of our Cobuses to us, with which we have moved to individual locations. We stopped in front of the Austrian Technik Bratislava hangars, where we were able to take some of the Fokker 70 and Fokker 100s, continued to the helicopters of the MV SR squadron, we went to small hangars where small bizjets were parked, we got to the old known Tupolev , from there through Jak-40 and Airbus A319 to Airbus A300 DHL, where we finished the whole action. Of course, some of the regular traffic: Ryanair, Travel Service, Mistral Air, and so on.

2x Tupolev Tu-154 (OM-BYO a OM-BYR)
Jak-40 (OM-BYL)

The first Spotter Day at Bratislava Airport hit the unit as well as the weather. We still have to believe that a similar action will be repeated in the future. As this is the first Spotter day, we all believe it was not the last one.
Once again, great thanks to: Bratislava Airport, SlovakAviation, Austrian Technik Bratislava and Squadron MV SR.
