Simulator of Boeing 737NG in Bratislava

We bring you an interview with Paul Bayer from Simulatorcentrum.sk

Hi Pało,

Thanks for introducing the opportunity to try this Boeing 737NG simulator,
I see you’ve done a bit of work on the surrounding areas and the sim.

Airliners.sk – How did the idea of creating a simulator center originated?
PB -This is how, basically, starting with the first release of Microsoft Flight Simulator (still with catastrophic graphics :)), I started to fly simulators at home on my computer. I used to fly all available combat simulators like Jane / s Combat Simulator, Lock On, and so on. As the Microsoft simulator improved, it started to drag me up and down to big planes. Gradually I improved my home gear from the common joystick I went to yokes and pedals … then I bought the replica MCP from the B737 and the throttle quadrant 737 until the problem with space. I have to admit that originally, the simulator wanted to egoistically build only the house in the room for myself … Gradually the idea of getting it among people was born. Before I went there, I ran around all the simulators around (Prague, Vienna, Gyor). Then I chose a vendor and Sim was in the world.

Airliners.sk – How Sim’s Reality Is Close to Reality?
PB – This is more of a question for professional pilots who fly with this machine in real life. But the cockpit equipment is the B737NG.

Airliners.sk – Who is your target audience?
PB – It was originally planned for the public, but at the moment I have to say that the pilots are still in the process. But basically the target clientele is everyone who interests them and they are happy to fly, or they want to learn something about it.

Airliners.sk – What use can you find for pilots that fly carriers?
PB – For professional pilots, it can be used as a progress simulator for practicing various Multi Crew Co-operation (MCC) procedures in different situations. But it’s not just a simulator, we have for pilots, for example, test software used for screening. For pilots, we have as a transport pilot instructor who is also a real fellow with this machine, ie those who are preparing for type rating can explain, help and counsel. Next, the simulator can be used for IFR flying.

Airliners.sk – What about prices?
PB – I’ve been thinking a long time where to go with the prices. As I already mentioned, I’ve been running simulators around and trying to come at a lower price than a competitor. Equally, I can say that iPilot’s price can not compete (they have simulators across Europe and, as far as I know, they produce them themselves – so their cost and price are totally elsewhere). Our price is 128, – € / hour or 30 min for 76 Euros. Holders of ITIC, ISIC, Euro 26 cards and IVAO members who are registered for more than 365 days have an 8% discount. Prices for pilots are based on an individual agreement but are definitely significantly lower than for the public – because pilots do not usually come to an hour but take about 10 hours.

Airliners.sk – Is there also an instructor who has explained to me what to press, switch etc.?
PB – Of course. Before the actual flight is the briefing where we explain everything, then the customer with the instructor moves into the simulator where we explain everything again, and from the first take-off begins to flow the customers time.

Airliners.sk – Is this activity for total rookies?
If he is interested in flying, then definitely yes.

Airliners.sk – Are you able to fly different scenarios such as Hudson mirracle?
PB – We can simulate almost everything you remember. Hudson, of course, various airplane disasters in the air, on the ground … different weather and airports from the world’s inventions, including those that are out of order today, for example, the famed Kai Tak in Hong Kong, where passengers are looking at the people almost to the living room – so low flying over the city.

Airliners.sk – It sounds interesting, what does it stand for?
PB – If you think the Hudson, then after the start, they will drop the two engines after a collision with Canadian geese in about 3000 feet. You are over New York and you have very little time to decide what you are doing – reassess the direction of the wind force position / distance of the aircraft from the nearest airports and either return to the airport or land on the river. Well, it’s not about how you can handle it, because in real life, it’s just a professional pilot, but it’s up to you to try to make the second irreversible decisions and bear the consequences because there’s even a third option , and that you crash into the city.

Airliners.sk – Are you planning additional simulators?
PB – Yes, we are planning to join Piper Seneca in June. We are also thinking about an A320 or helicopter simulator in the future.

On behalf of Airliners.sk, we hold p. Bayer’s thumbs and we are looking forward to another meeting, whether you ride on the Boeing simulator or when introducing further additions to the fleet.

Let’s add a little alert: Flight to the simulator for those you love and especially The Boeing 737 NG is very addictive and it is highly probable that you will be coming back again and again .. just like me : D
