World longest flight operated by Qatar Airways

Today, at 3:26 pm, our time, has taken off from Doha Boeing 777-200LR with registration A7-BBB for the world’s longest flights. Line QR920 from Doha to Aukland in New Zealand will fly for about 16 hours and 20 minutes to a distance of 9,032 miles (14,535km).

The aircraft is in the configuration of 42 seats in the business class and 217 in the tourist class. A range of more than 15,000km is achieved thanks to an increased take-off mass, 3 additional fuel tanks in the cargo area and a widened wing width of 3.9 meters.

This world record will not last for long, as Singapore Airlines plans to rebuild the legendary New York-Singapore and Los Angeles-Singapore lines in 2018 to which it plans to deploy the Airbus A350-900ULR
