On Saturday, May 20, 2017, the 3rd Photo of the Photo Safari took place. It is organized annually by the Flughafenfreunde Wien which operates at Vienna Airport.
9:45 we meet at VisitAir Center and report our arrival to receive a ticket. Fast pass through security and get into the ready two-storey bus. Where do we not take us at all? We are heading towards the threshold of lane 11. Passing around the General Aviation stand where some bizjets are parked, and then I notice one “witty”. There was also Milan. (Reg.M-ILAN). However, we did not stop at the threshold of the track, but continued along the service road to the level of the RWY 29 threshold in comparison to the terminal.
The first shot and the AirExplore Slovak Aircraft – OM-GEX 🙂
There were a few more pieces:
The wind blew very unpleasant at speeds of 20kt with bumps up to 30kt. Fortunately we spotters except we read what will fly on that day, we also read the weather forecast. So taking your jacket with you was obvious 🙂
Put us back into the bus where we move to the second position approximately half way 11-29. The planes start at RWY 29 and rise directly ahead of us.
However, the Iranian Airbus A300 changed his mind on the line to Tehran and took off before the crowd.
We move on to the RWY34 “threshold” so we can look at the arrival of, for example, Boeing 717-200 by Volotea
or Air Berlin
and spanish Iberia
Once again jump to the bus and move literally compared to the previous position where we have better lighting conditions for Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner
and the Portuguese TAP (Take another plane ;-)) with her A321
We come back to warm up on the bus and learn a great message: Ethiopian B787 has changed its plans and the plane is still getting rid of it so run to it. She’s beautiful.
The Emirates Airbus A380 landed so we moved to the last photo position
and here is the Boeing 737 of SunExpress
and besides that we parked the already mentioned Boeing 717 VOLOTEA 🙂
The 2-hour tour of the airport area is over, and we head back to the VisitAir Center where we are talking to Martin Dichler of Flughafenfreunde Wien and we thank for our invitation.
