Thai Airways in Vienna

On Thursday, 16th of November, Airliners.sk had the pleasure to be part of inaugural flight of Thai Airways International from Bangkok to Vienna.

Event was hosted by Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, acting president of Thai airways International, Mr. Julian Jager, member of the management board of Flughafen Wien and Mr. Norbert Kettner, director of the Vienna tourist board.

Mr. Jager clearly stated, that Vienna is entry point to Central Europe and close proximity of Bratislava, Budapest and Prague is opening doors for new travelers who can enjoy hospitality on flights of Thai Airways International, member of Star Alliance. Thai Airways is connecting Vienna with Bangkok, the most important transport hub in Thailand. Thailand is one of the most preferred travel destinations for holiday travelers. More than 80.000 people have already traveled to Bangkok this year from Vienna. Thanks to this new flight connection, Vienna airport can now offer 15 weekly frequencies and new four weekly flights operated on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are increasing capacity on this route by additional 1.400 seats. The flight will leave Bangkok at 1:30 a.m. and land at 7 a.m. local time in Vienna. The return flight from Vienna will depart at 1:30 pm and arrive in Bangkok at 5:20 am local time on the following day.

Mr. Kettner said that new connection between Bangkok and Vienna will not only provide a boost to overnight stays in Vienna, but will also strengthen The Australia – Vienna axis by adding a high-quality flight offering.

Flight, which takes approximately 10 hours of flying time is going to offer new convenient connecting flights to other parts of Asia and Australia. Flight is operated by Boeing 777-300ER, with total capacity of 348 seats in two classes. Thai Royal Silk is offering 42 business class seats, with 188 centimeters length, 51 centimeters wide full-flat seats.  With 1-2-1 configurations, each of the business class passengers had aisle access. Seats are equipped with TV with 38 centimeters diameter. Passengers travelling with Thai Royal Silk have the possibility to check luggage with total weight of 40 kilograms.

Thai Royal Silk class features All Day dine, which means that passengers travelling in Royal Silk Class are now able to savour a range of delightful Thai and Western dishes accompanied by the finest wines, cocktails and refreshing beverages, at a time of their choosing.

Thai economy class has total capacity of 306 seats. Each seat is equipped with TV with 27centimeters diamater and outlet and USB port for charging electronic devices. Maximum allowed weight of checked luggage is 30 kilograms.
